Would you rather be a better golfer or a better parent?

It seems some of these so called golflectuals have no regard for their children....

Probably because they have some illegal immigrant nanny raising their children for them.

Thanks!Would you rather be a better golfer or a better parent?
the answer is: a better parent, golf is a game.

However, having said that, to be a good parent, one must teach respect, must teach responsibility, must teach sportmanship, must teach honesty, and must teach humility. Something that Michelle's Wie parents apparently failed to teach her even though they are benefiting from the millions that she is making. As a result of poor parenting, Michelle was called out by Annika, something that she never had to do had Michelle knows that is she wants to play, she must play by the rules.

Nobody likes a spoiled brat who spoils the game for everyone else.

And for you Jake S, I guess you either don't have kids, or are spoiling your kids that when your kids do not play nice with other kids, you let her/ him be.

I just hope that she does not turn out to be like Paris Hilton that needed to be sent to jail before she realized that life has rules.Would you rather be a better golfer or a better parent?
sorry if you raise you kids to take games so personally that they would insult someone over them.

a better parent is clearly the best answer
I don't understand you, people that play golf are usually people with more money, people with more money tend to have nanny's, it's the circle of life.
Golfer, not married yet.
Golfer, I'm only 15.
you are probably neither...............i feel sorry for your kids
Well it seems like you're trying to call someone out here. Unless you know first hand, keep your opinions to yourself.
What does a good golfer benefit society?

(Who cares? it's just a game, right?)

What does a good parent benefit society?

(This is what it's all about- without good parents, having good citizens is a whole lot rarer.)
well considering i dont have any kids and i really dont want any i think i rather continue getting better at golf

but i do have a nephew so in other words i would rather be a better uncle then a golfer.

im 24 years old and a 2 handicap and fact is im probably 5-10 years away from even making some mini tours.

so i rather buy my nephew toys then pay for a tournament where someone is gonna shoot 8 under.

apparently BJ Wie would rather have Michelle Wie be a better golfer then himself a better parent. hes ruining her career!
Just to break the monotony of all the Answers....I Choose Both......there is no reason you can't be both a good parent and good at golf.
I don't have any children that I know of, so I'd have to go with Golfer...fer sure.
i really like this question! i was a cart girl for years on a high ranked course in texas. i experienced many dads (few moms) come in and act like they could care less about their family. in fact, ill never forget this, one man was at the bar with some of his buddies and i was bartending to them and his cell rang. hitting ignore on the phone, he stated it was his son and he was having a football game in 3 hours. he then went on to say that he told him he had a tounament to attend, so therefore he couldnt make it to his football game. he chuckled as he continued to talk. his son left him a voice mail. the man checked it and the boy stated that he hoped his dad could cut the game short to maybe catch the last quarter of his football game. the dad laughed and closed it phone and said yeah right... cut a golf game short to watch a football game? so then he called his son back, yelled at him for calling in the middle of a game AFTER he already told him he was not coming to his game. that broke my heart. i hope you all choose to be a better parent than golfer if you have any children. children need you. a game can wait.
a better parent definately, i dont care how much you love golf.parentin is very inportant specially for your child it will help him a lot in future trust me. some people didn't have a parentin life n wish they could had.
golfer b/c i have no kids

and dont try to cover up a burn with a question, i would like to think that most of us are beyond getting into fueds on here
My son wanted to play golf at age of 11. I had never played before. That was in 1991, and we began the trek towards play a decent round of golf. He is 26 years old now, we played golf this morning at 7AM , just as we have done every saturday and sunday morning for the last 16 years. He has won 22 amateur tournaments and is a plus four handicap(thats 4 better than scratch) and I am a 5. We go on vacations together, my wife of 30 years is filled with pride that we enjoy such a common bond . I wouldn't trade the time I spend with my son on the course for anything. We both love it so much.
a better parent definately..I dont know much about golf
I'm already a great parent, so I would like to be a better golfer now.
i am not a parent so i would say a better golfer, but i am allready satisfyed with my game, but when i become a parent i think my opinion will change
Duh- Parent.
A good parent. I don't have kids either, but they are depending on you to raise them and golf isn't depending on you. Speaking of parenting.... My boyfriend and I went to see knocked up last weekend and a pregnant woman brought a 3-4 year old in with her.... and we wonder why our kids are having sex at 10.
A better parent.
