my father recently passed away and i am in the 9th grade and suddenly all my teachers are being extremely nice to my and they always look sympathetic when talking to me. does that mean that they know?If a parent of a student dies does the school somehow know?
Yes. Unfortunately so will everyone else, sorry honey, but nothing brings the vultures out more than the death of a child's parent. People who have never so much as looked at you before, or even those who have been outright hostile toward you, will suddenly want to be your best friend. It's an unfortunate and very unattractive part of a lot of peoples make up, they will do anything to get attention, any sort of attention, and if that means befriending the kid who has just lost their parent, they will even sink to that. Just a word of warning okay honey, be careful of them, they'll disappear as soon as the attention dies down. You'll know who your friends are now. I lost my Dad 6 months ago, and although I'm a lot older than you, I was still Daddy's baby, you know? It hurts bad huh? I'm so sorry for your loss, I know there's nothing anyone can say to make you feel any better, and it feels like you'll always feel like this, angry and sad and lonely, and I know you can't take this in now, but it does get a little easier with time, heals all wounds and all that, I promise. Maybe your mum told them or someone read it in the paper or knows someone who knows someone who knew your dad. There are lots of ways of finding out. Maybe one of your friends told your teacher. However they know its good. If you need to talk with them then I am sure they would be really willing to listen.





Sorry about your dad passing. I hope you have lovely memories to hold onto.
It may be that your classmates/friends said something, and they may have seen it in the obituary section of the local paper. If you live in a small community, work spreads very quickly. And people are usually very kind in such a situation.
