How would she react if after that incident, the student dropped out and got a GED?How would a teacher respond if the student and parent both cursed her out?
If she's smart, she'll make sure everything she did to help the student prior to dropping out is documented. Every parent contact/conference is on file, grades are all up to date- just cover your butt and you'll be fine. Also, a teacher should report the incident to her principal. How would a teacher respond if the student and parent both cursed her out?
Did you do this? Awesome
It depends on what country and state you are in....
In Europe: you wouldn't worry about it and just let it go.
In Kentucky: your job could be in jeopardy! You would be seen as the one at fault (a) unable to not have problems with a student, b) unable to communicate properly with a parent, c) causing a student to drop out and, thus, causing the school to lose money, d) if you got upset, you might be looked upon as someone with a skin not thick enough for teaching.)
You'd also have to consider if one or more of the Assistant Principals are friends of the student in question (maybe they are their coach on a sports team, or whatever) b/c that might make him/her/them team up with the student and his/her parent against you. And finally,
you'd have to consider the race of the student in question. If it's a minority student, then you'd definitely be in trouble. And if this minority student is a star on the school basketball team, then you can pack your bag right away...b/c the school will drop YOU like a hot potato in order to appease the student and parent.
Umm..
Be mad and not be able to do anything about it.
Contact the principal and/or the police.
I wouldn't be bothered. I did the best that I could; if she dropped out and got a GED, that is her personal preference.
I would probably remind myself that it is a classic example of horrible parents setting even worse examples for their children.
A teacher is a lot of things, some of them the most fruitfull for young minds to be nurtured by. But, by all means, a parent is what a child comes home to.
';like father, like son';... and so on.
well it is not the teachers problem anymore ,she tried to help. look the kid and parent act the same, there is nothing more the teacher can do. the student got her ged.
