What kind of parent would let his son wear earrings, makeup and high heels to school?

There is decorum, if nothing else.What kind of parent would let his son wear earrings, makeup and high heels to school?
An open-minded one who is very accepting of his/her son's preferences?What kind of parent would let his son wear earrings, makeup and high heels to school?
The kid must have gender issue. I know a kid who's in high school wearing similar garb, getting into fights about it and having perfecty nice parents who are doing the best with a very unusual individual. I know they must be a little disappointed that their son is so '; out of the mainstream'; . However in this age of a teenage suicide epidemic, widespread mentla health problems, and substance abuse numbers totaling 20% of the population - maybe they are doing the only thing they can do to keep their kid alive and well.

We dont know the whle story so I personally think we shouldnt criticize.
What kind of parent would let his son (8th grader) have access to a gun?

I don't agree with what the school said about his right to dress, the reason for ';uniforms'; is to keep this kind of thing from happening. Regardless of the fact to keep the boys and girls rights the same, any type of dress that disrupts the student body and the process of teaching should of been banned. I think it was very poor judgment on the school system. I can actually see where they'd be liable for his death.
wow....i don't know why any parent would allow that. if they know their child is gay...fine, but why put him in danger like that with so many unaccepting people in the world...he should never have been allowed to leave the house looking like a drag queen.
This question should be: ';What kind of parent gives their child the idea that it's okay to shoot someone in the computer lab because of his sexual orientation?';

You're picking the wrong thing to be disgusted about here. Your comment ';there is decorum'; shows that. This kid has clearly faced the consequences of exercising his freedom, your second guessing of his parents after he's gone is definitely not necessary.

And if you'd read the whole thing, you would see that ';King had been in foster care at a center for abused and neglected children since November, said Steve Elson, the facility's chief executive. Confidentiality laws prevented him from saying why.';
mmm...
A realistic one. BTW I'm sure the kid changed when after they left the house.
OMG a parent that actually lets his child express who he is!
Like it or not they are doing the best they can, and trying to be supportive of who their child is and letting them express themselves. If the child is sincere about it bless them for standing behind them.
As a mother of 5, 3 boys and 2 girls...I would hate it but I probably wouldn't make an issue of it. Probably just a ';I'm my own person'; thing. With teenagers, there are a whole lot of other serious issues to deal with! Pick your battles carefully...ya know?
holy crap.

one that accepts their son for who he is.

wow.
An open - minded one, I suppose. If that's what the son wants, fine. I can't say it would be my preference for my son to dress that way, and I would seriously suggest that he take self defense classes (cheaper than stitches at the ER). But hey, if it makes him happy and he's not hurting anyone...
Maybe the mother knows their son is different and wants to embrace it and support him.
What does it matter to you? Not you son right? So don't worry about it.
id rather die being who i am, then live a life forced to pretend to be something im not. the issue here shouldnt be what kind of parent would let his son dress how he wants, it should be what kind of parent allows their child to become so filled with hate and rage that they kill someone? the shooter committed a crime, not the cross dresser! open your eyes.
A parent who realizes that their son is expressing who he is in his own way.

It's not a sign of laziness; it's a sign of acceptance. Your comment shows your ignorance.
Was it perhaps a special day at school? Sometimes during home coming we would have 'reverse' day where the boys dressed as girls and the girls dressed as boys. If that's the case... what's the big deal???? It's all fun and games. You need to give more information for your question.
