ever torture their child for eternity? No matter how bad they were, or how much they disrespected their Father. It so is not the same, how can anyone use it as an example, but you do here, over and over again. Why do people always say God sending us to Hell is the same as a parent punishing a child, what Parent would?
How could a creator so loving as to create a flower, be the same entity that would will pain on anything? Why do people always say God sending us to Hell is the same as a parent punishing a child, what Parent would?
God is not going to torture his children for eternity. He is only going to torture the devil and those who choose to be his child for eternity. God is not going to live for ever and ever with one single selfish self-centerd person that habitually inflicts hurt on other people. He gives them their chance to change their ways, but when it is over, it is over. This life is just and audition for eturnity.
Whether you agree with that or not is your choice but it will not change anything. People who judge themselves as smarter or more just than the creator of the universe have a screw loose.
Any parent who kept a torture chamber in the basement would be arrested.
The purpose of discipline is to teach better behavior. Punishment when there is no chance of changing one's behavior in the future is meaningless.
EDIT: For those who claim only a non-Christian would say that, please pay attention to future questions. I've seen that answer many times.
Here is a question for you. Is any parent perfect and holy like God, did they create the Earth, did they send there Son to be tortured, despised, and to die for you? The answer is no, God is so perfect and holy that he can not allow sin to enter his presence in heaven.
It is true that God created us all and he does not send us to hell, our own sin does
Well Josie, only a sick and demented individual would create something so elaborate only to see it burn and suffer. Is it fair to prescribe eternal punishment for the mistakes of 70 years? Of course not. This reprehensible cycle doesn’t really exist in the universe. It only exists in the minds of barbaric human beings that don’t yet understand the natural world. They’ve become so accustomed to the primitive interpretation of this world; they are willing to fight modern science for the upper hand. If God did exist and was asking us to worship him, he’s nothing but an entity that lacks self esteem. This whole concept of needing to worship is inane and foolish. It’s the devising of cave men when they were afraid of storms and thunder. Sadly, millions run around calling themselves civilized, yet they’re indoctrinating their children on neanderthalic concepts such as the existence of God.
Well, it is the same thing, only on a much grander scale. As a parent, we give our kids expectations. They know what we expect them to do, and they know the consequences for not following the rules. When they break the rules, we punish them. Each parents can choose their own punishment. Some ground their kids, some take away television, some spank. It's up to the parent to set the rules and enforce them, but it's also imperative that the parent make the expectations and rules clear to the child. After that, it's up to the child to decide whether or not to comply.
It's the same thing with God. He has made it clear what His expectations are. He has made it clear what the punishment is for breaking the rules. After that, it's up to us. He gave us a free will to make our own decisions. He doesn't FORCE us to do anything. So it's up to us to either choose a godly life or a life of sin, and to accept the consenquences that come with that decision.
the thing is that hell was invented by Christianity to scare they're followers to obey if you read the bible carefully you will find out that the word hell is only use a couple of times and its referring to the grave... honestly why will a loving father do such cruelty to his own sons he even told adam from the earth you where created and there will you go back
Exactly.
My son stuck his middle finger up at me the other day (behind my back but I saw him the mirror!) and he lost his Playstation for a day.
If I had stuck him in a burning basement for ETERNITY I would be a tyrannical child abuser - evil in every way.
And to think these people think we get our morals from a being who could behave like that. It simply beggars belief.
i dont' particularly like the phrasing ';God sending us to hell'; because God doesn't really send us to hell, we send ourselves by disobeying him. in that regards, it is like a parent punishing a child because the parent does not punish without reason, the child did a crime or deed that was needing to be punished. so it is the child that sends themselves to be punished by doing the wrongdoing. the bible says that ';the wages of sin is death'; so the penalty for our sins had to be covered some how, which is why God sent Jesus to be that sacrifice, to be that cover for our sins. He loves us just like a parent loves a child and provided that way out so that no one HAS to go to hell, and that there would be an option.
Romans 10:9 - If you confess with your mouth ';Jesus is Lord'; and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
The problem with your logic is that parents do kick their children out of their house if they don't respect them or follow the rules they've set down to help them. It just so happens that God's house is Heaven and being kicked out of that has far worse consequences than being kicked out of your parents' house.
That is excellent reasoning. Especially when the scriptures plainly say that ';GOD IS LOVE';
What LOVING parent would douse their child in gasoline and place them so close to fire denying them any kindness and NOT be considered cruel and useless.
I have heard people burn their children with their cigarettes. Have you ever had a cigarette burn?
CRUEL..
So you are right. God is love and he doesn't promise torment forever.
Keep searching you are getting closer to the truth.
its a choice everyone is in control of there life and god gave us a choice he said the punishment for sin is death and when you die there are only two places to go you know the rules for getting into heaven and you didnt follow them so don't get mad at the judge cause you got the death penalty you shouldn't have committed the crime
I don't know any Christians who say that. I see lots of people on R%26amp;S who say that, but they are probably very young and immature in their beliefs.
Hell is not something that God uses to punish us. Hell is something we choose by default when we choose something else besides love. That's the definition of hell: the absence of love (the absence of God).
As soon as you choose love, you are not in hell.
Catholics do it and have done it and will do it again to any kid they get their hands on.
In the 1960's they put us kidz from the orphanage into a hole under the ground and covered it with tin and left us in there for dayz without food or water and when i just told everyone on this yahoo about it because i got shock syndrome, they all laughed, said i was on drugs and a liar and told me to get a life and go away.
I was guna protest as i never ever wanted another kid to go through that torture. they did shock treatment on us too and scientific experiments.
500,000 Australians went thru orphanages run by churches and gov, but not many of them kids survived due to suicide.
rape and torture was very common, try everyday of a tiny toddlers life.
Hell was the pit that they put us in and it was proved to me personally that the human race has ignored it and does ignore it and will ignore it again and that is why you hear it because THEY DO DO IT!!!
AND THEY WILL DO IT AGAIN!!!
NEVER TRUST ANYONE WITH YOUR KIDZ!
DDO YOU HEAR ME????
I SAID, NO ONE= ESPECIALLY THE GOD LOVING PREACHERS!
THEY TORTURE IN THE NAME OF GOD AND PEOPLE GROW UP THINKING THEY ARE EVIL AND GOD HATES THEM!
And that is what they did to me and now i am left knowing it and knowing that the family i thought was mine for the last 40 years is not mine. Is that torture 2u, in your mind or would you not even feel a ruddy thing?
You are generalizing. I don't hear people ';always'; say God is sending us to Hell. What I have heard is that if you don't live by God's commandments and He doesn't forgive you, then you will go to Hell. BTW, I don't use it here over and over again. Another generalization.
Besides, there seems to be real confusion over the REAL PARENT, with more tan one claimant!
Muslims say that they have the right God %26amp; disbelievers will burn in Hell, Christians say those who don't accept Jesus will burn in Hell!
So whoever chooses the wrong God will according to them burn in Hell!
If two or more people claim to be a child's father, can the child be blamed for not being able to select the right parent?
If you are saying that Christians are always saying that, well, I have never heard it.
Perhaps a ';fundie'; says it, I don't know. I've been a Christian for many years, and I don't know another Christian who would say or believe such a thing.
You are hearing something I'm not. God's children do not go to Hell.
whoever says that is wrong they are completely different because parents want to make the child be afraid so they say that. God has given us the freedom to choose how we want to live life and if we choose to go to hell its not God, its us that make that choice.
thats a stupid analogy, because God doesn't send His children to hell. those who go to hell God says to them ';depart from Me, I never knew you';
you don't become a child of God until you are born again. He hated esau and loved jacob for that very reason.
Unbelievers are not God's children. Unbelievers are children of wrath.
Any unbeliever can become a child of God, by believing in Jesus alone for salvation, and then they'll never be sent to hell. That simple
The main purpose of living is learn how to be a slave of god. Just think: if a doctor fixed your nroken hand that had to chance to be fixed, would not you be greateful to him forever? YOU DEFINITELY WOULD. Then God has given you everything. Two non defected eyes (not everyone), two hands, two legs and other parts of your body. He has even given you life. Then he gave you food, a place to live. Everything you have is owned by god. In return God is asking you to be a slave and he is not those kind of owner that will torcher you, not give you food and after you do as he told you in this world then you get heaven. Everything you think of will come to you. Paradise everything. In return he is asking you only to be his slave. You tell me would not you be mad if you created something and its not doing as you are telling it to. Would not you punish it severely if you could? OFCOURSE YOU WOULD.
I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE WHO DONT WANT TO BELEIVE IN GOD BECAUSE OF THIER PRIDE AND GOD HATES THAT. YOU HAVE TO REALIZE YOU ARE NOTHING WITHOUT GOD.
The luxirious life you want will be given to you in heaven if you do as god told you. Then why the hell would you disobey god to be burnt in hell. Plain stupid.
If you want to know the god i beleive in which is Allah then read my explanation here:

Answer #37
Non-Christians and people who don't believe in Hell or in God say that.
We can't see from God's perspective, only from the human, so it's a failed argument.
Think of it more as people separate themselves from God. He'd welcome them back, forgive all, but they have to return to him. I don't think Hell is truly eternal, it just takes people a while to return to God.
because that's usually the best argument Christians can come up with to justify why a loving and merciful god would allow their children to burn in hell forever.
Probably for the same reasons that we tell them that killing someone might be a good way to spend a permanent vacation behind a barred window...
People go to hell of their own choosing, by slapping away the outstretched hand of Jesus
That statement ';they'; make is incorrect.
fear is a great motivator. An evil and despicable motivator, but a useful one.
A Loving God has no part in our punishment. He simply allows us to separate from him to the point that we create our own problems. The only eternal judge of your behavior is yourself.
Isn't one of the tenants of Christianity that you should fear God?
mainly because their idiots.
You're right. God must obviously be by far more sadistic and terrible.
