I ask a question earlyer. and someone said the only reason my 11, and 7 year old wet the bed is because i am a bad parent. and is also because we are poor. i try my best taking care oiof my kids. and i thought bed wetting is common on kids.
so do is common does anyone else know someone that wets the bed at night and how old are they.Do my kids wet the bed because am a bad parent?
not true.
totally not true.
every kid that age wets the bed occasionally.
at 11 maybe tell him/her not to drink so much water before he/she goes to bed, and start waking both of them up for middle of the night bathroom visits.
i did that for a while. they'll get over it. no worries ^.^Do my kids wet the bed because am a bad parent?
ok....
on average boys tend to wet the bed more and longer (older), it is sometimes because they are ...too lazy to get up, too cold, had too much to drink too soon before bed, lied about going to the bathroom before bed.... and the biggest thing... boys bodies tend to develop slower
so... no soda before bed, try to control the stuff i said above
and! make sure they take their wet gross sheets to where ever it is that gets them washed
to avoid a soaked mattress get those cheap plastic liners and put that down over the bed then a sheet over it
sometimes it can be that the person is a bad parent, sometimes it is just the way life goes... it is up to you to decide, it is your life and your family...try the best you can and be honest with yourself and...if you are doing everything right and you still feel like **** and everyone else says ****...**** them and cut yourself some slack
but always try
My son is almost 4 %26amp; he has been potty trained over a year now, not wearing anything to bed at night, we cut him off drinks 2 hours before bedtime %26amp; he is only allowed a sip here %26amp; there, and we make him go to the bathroom before bed....
My cousin though, has 3 kids, her oldest and youngest both had/have bet wetting problems her oldest is 16 now (idk if she still does but i know she did a year ago)
and her youngest just turned 11, i know he still has a problem with it, she's taken them to many doctors, tried every possible way to get them not to pee the bed (except cutting off their drinks which is a DUH to me)
but nothing could help them... in my opinion she isn't a bad parent, she just didn't know how to handle her situation, I would talk to a doctor %26amp; see what you can do or try to help these kids along, a lot of kids wet the bed, but it's not ';common'; just a few here %26amp; there, and it is common though to have accidents, but not every night.
You need to learn how to help them, learn how to control their bladder, my 3 year old wakes up in the middle of the night to go, and we just woke up him in the middle of the night %26amp; took him to the bathroom when he was first training %26amp; his bladder kind of caught on %26amp; he hasn't had a problem..... but no you're not a bad parent, you just need to find what works for your kids.
Good Luck.
No one suggested that your kids bedwet because you where a bad parent. They did say that you might want to see if there is a reason for the bed wetting and get help if it's a psychological or physical reason. They also suggested alternatives to the expensive disposable diapers.
I don't think the bedwetting has anything to do with you being a good or bad parent.
I read your previous question and all of the responses to it, and never once did I see anyone judge your parenting based off the fact that your kids are still wetting the bed. It was mentioned that there might possibly be deeper reasonings behind the bed wetting (ie, many childhood sexual abuse victims wet the bed) that you might want to get checked out.
I believe any bad parenting comments were in regards to the complaining about welfare thing... just so you know.
And these people on yahoo answers are experts? Raise your kids they way you want to raise them. Yes everyone has questions about somethings in life and its good to see how other people handle different situations. But please, I'm sure the people who said you are a bad parent have skeletons in their closet that makes them real winners too. Take the answers on here with a grain of salt, if you like them and want to incorporate some of the ideas then more power to you. If not, who really cares what someone else opinion is.
bed wetting is common in kids so please dont think you are my nephew wet the bed up until the age of 10 (he was being bulied at school) and it s certainly not because you are poor i doubt very much your kid would wet the bed because they dont have the latest wii game:) try a reward system.....take them to teh nearest store tell them you stay dry in the night for a week and were going to get that 'game. toy whatever you chose at the store:)
Your children do not wet the bed because you are a bad parent.
They probably wet the bed because:
A. They drink something before the go to bed.
B. They don't get up in time to go to the bathroom.
It's not your fault, love.
Only if you haven't taken them to doctors to make sure there are no physical problems...
I have good parents and I wet my bed when I was younger %26gt;.%26gt;. Wetting your bed is more of a bladder problem than anything else.
that is not true... they are just lazy.. they dont want to get up and just decide to wet the bed...
probably not true. is there a history of bed wetting in your family? because that might be why.
