A lot of people have thought they were getting direct deposit but for whatever reason aren't, so are assuming they'll get it earlier than they really are. For example, if you had a tax prep place do your return and had your fees taken out of your refund, you aren鈥檛 eligible for direct deposit.

Check your bank statement from when the original refund came - if it says ';US Treasury'; you should be OK for direct deposit as long as that account is still open, and you didn鈥檛 split your refund into multiple accounts. Otherwise, you鈥檒l get a paper check

If you earned over $3000 you almost certainly qualify for at least $300 for yourself and another $300 for your child if he or she is under age 17. You might get more for yourself, up to $600 total, but that depends on your federal income tax liability for the year. How do you know if you get a tax stimulis check i am single parent claiming one child i got direct deposit for
Rebates were deposited based on last digits of SSN. People with higher digits won't get theirs until June. Also, if Refund Anticipation Loan was used, those might be delayed also.

Here's the link to the irs.gov ';where's my refund'; page. This will tell you when to expect deposit/mailed check and who to call if there is a problem. For me it was exactly right. I got mine the exact day they said I would

There is a link on irs.gov titled something like ';Where is my check?'; You can put in your ssn and one other piece of info (changes) and find out about your check.
