Do you need an actual parent present to get an abortion?

Do you need an actual parent to sign or can you get anyone over 18?Do you need an actual parent present to get an abortion?
Depends where you live, check this out to figure out the laws in your state . . .

http://www.sexetc.org/state *Even if it says you need parental consent, you don't. Call PP and tell them you cannot tell your parents; by law, a judicial bypass must be available to those minors who just cannot get their parents/guardians permission. A judge signs the parental consent acting as a de facto guardian.

If you go to a Planned Parenthood clinic that has a low-income program it can be as cheap as 100$. If you tells them you have no job, no money and no support they will likely have you pay the minimum for the procedure and get donations to cover the rest. 1-800-230-PLAN (1-800-230-7526) to find the Planned Parenthood clinic nearest you. If you are underage it will mostly likely be free.

You have the choice between the pill (which can be taken up to 11weeks, at home or at a friends house) or the vacuum method (in clinic procedure). Personally I used the pill method so I could be at home with my husband but some women want to have the surgical, so it's done and over with when they leave the clinic.

You will be financially screened - usually this goes on the honor system, weight/height taken, blood pressure checked, pricked -fingertip- to check for rH factor and anemia, you will receive an ultrasound or sonogram to determine gestational age. You may be asked if you want to view the image, this is up to you. You will receive antibiotics, anti-nausea tabs and pain meds. Take them ALL. You must finish at the very least your course of antibiotics. Follow all aftercare instructions and go back to your after care appt. This last step is vital, you must go back for your aftercare appt! Abortion begins a new menstrual cycle. You should have a regular period in 4 to 8 weeks.you should have the option of receiving birth control - again this will most likely be free, take it and use it correctly.

Some state medicaid program do pay for it, use this link and figure out if your state covers it. If they do, you can go to ';welfare'; office and get emergency coverage and the state and taxes will help pay for it. http://www.ourbodiesourselves.org/book/c鈥?/a>

I respect that it is your choice and understand that you are probably doing what's best for you. If you have any more questions or want/need to talk about it drop me an email.

It is entirely possible to have an abortion and not feel guilt because you knew it was the right thing to do.

It depends on the state, or country that you are residing in. I know that you are not asking anything else but this, but I have to tell you I would be remiss if I did not say something. Are you VERY sure that you want to abort your baby? Women think it is the easy way out of a situation that they don't want to be in. However, I can tell you it is not the easy way out at all. No I have never had an abortion. however, I counseled women for over 10 years and the a lot of the ones that have had abortions say ';if I only knew the truth before I aborted, I would not have chosen that option';. Also think about your body. Do you realize what an abortion can do to you? It does not just take the life of your child, it can cause problems both physically, emotionally and spiritually. My daughter had to have minor surgery once and I had to sign permission for the surgery, which makes sense right? So think about you, you will be going into a medical clinic, and have a medical procedure done, which most people would call an abortion in today's world, but you don't have to have your parent's permission in some states. What is up with that? They have to have me sign so my daughter could have a cyst removed from her neck, but with an abortion no? Also my daughter had a cough drop in her back pack and they took it away from her at school, because I did not send a note with her to school. What is this world coming too?
Make sure you can handle killing your baby. After it is done you can't take it back. Adoption is better as well---it lets the baby live and a couple that isn't able to have kids do so. Most women end up in counseling or severely depressed afterwards. There are some on here that will say different and I believe they have no heart. The baby has a heartbeat after 17 days, the baby can feel pain after 8 weeks. The people who want to keep it legal call the baby a fetus to dehumanize it. But in the end you are killing an actual baby; she/he may still need you to support her/him until she/he is strong enough to live outside of your uterus and that is how much of the world says it is ok.
If you are a young teen then yes you do!

otherwise,

canada- 18 years and up you do NOT need a parent's consent.

U.S- 21 years up ( i believe ) you do NOT need a paren't consent

other places i am not too sure.

good luck hope this helped or gave you an idea,

although i am not aware of your situation my advice to you is always use protection and/or 2 forms of birth control!! condoms and Birth control pills/ patches., or sermicide. etc. if you can't take action/and be responsible for getting pregnant in the first place you should NOT be having sex. (i'm not trying to be rude, it's just a little piece of advice you should keep in mind)

good luck!
Well you definitely can't use just any random adult. If parental consent is required, it has to be a parent.
If they require a signature it's going to have to be a parents. But in some states they don't require parental consent at all!
That depends on the state you live in. Google ';parental consent laws abortion'; and you'll find out.
It depends. Call Planned Parenthood and ask them.
NO, depends upon country to country law.
