My wife's ex has step parent rights to her son from previous marriage, that man has passed away and court has given him step parent rights, if I adopt her son does he still retain those rights? ???How does step parent rights work if child is adopted?
When you adopt.. you BECOME the legal parent with all rights of the bio/ original parent. I was not aware that step parents ever had any rights at all.
