In the state of Texas, can I get a tattoo if I am a minor and my parent gives written permission?

I'm not trying to be an asshole, I need an answer, but please don't try to persuade me not to do this. I'm just not sure if it's legal or not. Thanks a bunch. In the state of Texas, can I get a tattoo if I am a minor and my parent gives written permission?
The answer is no.

Texas law stipulates that tattooing may not be performed on an individual under the age of 18 unless the tattooing being performed is to cover up an existing tattoo that must meet certain stringent qualifications (like offensive or hateful language, pictures, etc.). So, even with a parent's written permission - it's a no go.

If you want to see the specifics, check out 25 Texas Administrative Code, 搂229.406.

Besides, don't worry. You'll be there soon enough anyway. I'm sure you hear this a lot. :-) Also, don't go and get ';a friend'; to try to do one on you either. Just wait until you can actually go in of your own free will and get an awesome tattoo exactly how you want it so that you'll truly be happy with it.

It also seems like someone's been giving you gruff about tattoos anyway from the tone of your question. Anyone that's up-tight about tattoos has a problem. Furthermore, I think everyone should be free to get one or a hundred if they want them. Just remember that tattoos are permanent so choose well! :-)

Good luck with your tattooing! Have fun with it!In the state of Texas, can I get a tattoo if I am a minor and my parent gives written permission?
