Is it legal to for a parent to serve their children alcohol in their own home?

I'm 17 years old and have been arguing with my parents that it's legal in most U.S. states for the parents of a minor to serve their son/daughter alcohol in the privacy of their own home.

My question is:

Is it legal for parents to do so in the state of Connecticut and can anyone provide a link to a credible website that can verify your claims? I believe that it is legal, but I have not found any legitimate information online and would greatly appreciate anyone's help.

Thank you in advance.

You are 100% wrong. Sorry. It is definitely not legal for anyone to provide alcohol to a minor, regardless of where the drinking takes place. The law against underage drinking was not created to limit WHERE drinking is legal, but to limit WHO can legally drink. The fact that the parents furnish the alcohol or that the drinking takes place in the parents' home is absolutely irrelevant. The law does not make a distinction between who provides the alcohol, or where the drinking occurs. Is it legal to for a parent to serve their children alcohol in their own home?
IceBreaker27 is 100% wrong, Kevin.

MOST states allow parents/guardians to provide alcohol to their own children if they are in their presence. Connecticut is one that actually lets parents provide alcohol to their children in public.

I agree with MyHarpoon's correction. According to the US Federal Alcohol Information System (http://www.alcoholpolicy.niaaa.nih.gov/index.asp?SEC={DA244DAF-EB78-425C-915B-D26D303F9E13}%26amp;Type=BAS_APIS%26amp;DE=468A8313-845A-41C8-A6F1-73D42EDD5F24) parents may serve their children alcohol in Connecticut.

in the UK, your child may drink if you provide it, and its not stupid amounts, your not there to get your children drunk, but a glass of wine maybe with lemonade is okay, google drinking laws and see what comes up
No that isn't legal! You have to be 21 to drink, period. Doesn't matter where you get it or where you are when you drink it. Your parents would be in a lot of trouble and so would you.
It is illegal. There was a law that allowed it, but in 2006 that changed.
